Nine members of the Goalies (am I counting right? Jennifer C. is missing in this photo...) attended the SCBWI Carolina's Annual Fall Conference in Durham, NC., this year. It was the third year, as a group, for many of us.

And it is clear that our reputation has not been tarnished! We STILL know how to celebrate writerly togetherness. And that's just counting the stuff we did in our FREE TIME between sessions!

The Goalies will be posting our reflections on the conference here, no doubt. So, for those who were there, and those who weren't (alas!), here's a quick creative-writing jump-start:
